Since the beginning , Fado ao Centro has been dedicated to our city and those who visit us, every day of the year, with the goal of promoting Coimbra’s Musical Heritage.

The Fado ao Centro is a cultural center - “house of Fado”. Located in the historical part of town, it has its doors open every day of the year to welcome everyone that wants to see for for the first time, relieve old memories and enjoy the genuine life and traditions surrounding Coimbra’s Fado. 
Every day, at 6pm, we host our live show, an unmatched cultural experience and an opportunity to witness the magic surrounding Coimbra’s Fado, played and sung by some of the most accomplished musicians in town. Book your seat and come visit us.

Since the beginning of our cultural project, we have always cherished the desire to transmit teachings, to pass this passion onto all of those who, in addition to listening, wish to become interpreters of Fado de Coimbra.

The creation of Fado ao Centro’s Music School was always a dream, which we achieved in 2013 and which, since then, has been growing in number of students, and in remarkable artistic results.

Gradually, we have witnessed, with pride, the emergence of new talents of Fado de Coimbra, who have come to assume themselves as interpreters of recognized value, even performing in various events, in some of the most important venues of our country.

A big part of our School is the Instrument Construction Workshop, where we teach how to build string instruments.

The high demand of our courses have established that this is a project with success and with future inside our organization.
